"Zak" Enterline, Owner Ramrod Bar, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Zak has lived in South Florida for 25 years.  Throughout the '80s he bartended at bars around Ft. Lauderdale:  the Marlin Beach Hotel, the Copa and then Tunnel Bar.  He bought and reopened Tunnel Bar as the Jungle Bar in 1990.  That property was sold and became a downtown high-rise in 1994.  Afterward, Zak bought a rough, straight redneck biker bar named The HobBit, but reopened it three months later as The Ramrod Bar, a new GAY levi-leather bar.

Everyone said he was CRAZY to open a bar on the edge of Wilton Manors, IN Ft. Lauderdale because they said no gay people would come to the area.  Well, who knew?!?!  Now 13 years later there are 12 gay bars within one mile of The Ramrod Bar and many gay restaurants.  Zak and the Ramrod are starting their 14th year and counting on many more to come!!

Phil Garris, Mr. Sunshine State 2003

St. Petersburg, Florida

Phil grew up in a small Louisiana town working on the family farm and singing in church.  When he left home for the big city – Memphis - he sang at the 501, Back Street and Amnesia.
Having performed often in St. Louis Phil decided to relocate and was a popular entertainer at Magnolia's, The Complex, the Grey Fox and Faces. Another road trip to Columbia, Missouri changed his address again where he performed at Styx Bar and Contacts.  He found he loved the city as it was big enough to offer singing venues and a nightlife, but small enough to remind him of his rural roots.

Phil journeyed to Florida in 2000 when his partner, Steve, landed a job, being ready to escape the cold weather. Later, on a visit to Fort Myers, Phil found Unity Gain Studios, where he recorded an album.

In 2004, he and Steve moved to St. Petersburg, and performed at Grand Central Station, Suncoast Resort and the St. Pete Pride Street Festival. He is happy to have been a part of the inaugural Winter Pride Tampa Bay event in February 2006.  Phil has also performed at the Stonewall Festival in Fort Lauderdale the past 2 years. He hopes that his reintroduction to the stage will open the door to reenter the studio and produce another album, so he can give his music to a wider audience.

judges boy

boy dana is 42 y/o truck driver who recently relocated to the Tampa Bay area from Ohio via Richmond, Va.  He has been associated with several Leather clubs after a 4 year stint in the US Navy where he served with the US Marine Corps, but that does not mean he has not been in every other branch of the service....or them in him either.  The boy was first introduced to the Leather Community and BDSM while in his 20's in Baltimore, Md at a bar called the Gallery.  After a few drinks and atmosphere he found himself shackled to the wall with his pants to his ankles and a flogger warming his back.  At that point he was hooked into finding out just what else he could take.  His leather achievements include:  Ohio Leatherboy 2004, Great Lakes Leatherboy 2004, and competition in the International Leather Sir/boy contest, held at the Suncoast Resort in 2004. “I am collared by a wonderful Daddy that I love very much, but I keep him very busy trying to control me.”
