All held in historic Ybor City!
Saturday, 17 May

Not every town has a leather man who steps up to shoulder some small responsibility in his community, to present himself for a brighter visibility and ask for a measure of accountability. Lucky for Tampa Bay - we have such a man!! Not every community can, or wants to, send their chosen leather man (and sometimes leather woman) to a state-wide or national / international competition. Some communities have gatherings of committed leather men (and sometimes leather women) to bear a larger responsibility, to beg a greater visibility and proclaim fuller accountability. Lucky for Tampa Bay - we are such a community! Pedro is going to Chicago to compete in International Mr. Leather!!
Todd and Lincoln have an intention. That intention is to bring Leather out into the streets, out of the bars and back holes and into the neighborhood; our GaYborhood to be exact! So join us as we conduct the traditional, local pre-IML "Send-Off Party"! We'll start our celebration at Streetcar Charlies, then move to SPURS and end at Lounge 7.14 / The Forge. Pedro will be selling 50 /50 raffle tickets. The winner will be chosen after we get to The Forge. |

CLAW 7, Cleveland, Ohio 2008 Pedro and many of his IML 2008 classmates before the formal dinner. And look! Mike Gerle, IML 2007 right in the center next to Pedro. Pedro was very engaging while at CLAW. He was personable and charming. He spoke at length with no fewer than 5 of the 9 current year's IML judges! He volunteered for the organizers of the event to demonstrate his commitment to the national community and tribe. Were I to make a comparison, I would say he was a brilliant blue dwarf rather than a yawning, red giant. The "Tiger" was on the prowl! |

"The Mr. Gulf Coast Florida Leather Contest is the leather titleholder contest system for the Tampa Bay area of western Florida. While we are based in Tampa, we came from St. Petersburg, and may one day become a regional title contest, as our name suggests. Many have helped along the way to bring us to where we are today and we thank you all for your efforts, determination and desire. We are going on six years as a competition, fielding candidates to the former Mr. Florida Leather contests and, during the last two years, to International Mr. Leather, held in Chicago over Memorial Day Weekend. Our intent is to provide leather men a chance to spotlight their knowledge of BDSM activities, community involvement, and of course, their "hotness" in all manner of Leather. We advocate the "Leather Lifestyle": honor, integrity and commitment in risk-aware, consensual kink adult-to-adult involvement. As a leather contest, we support and assist our titleholder, the title bar, and other organizations in community activism and education, and charity fund raising events and causes. A little play and a little work make all the world go 'round."
